Hi hi
I'm looking for a ballonist for a kid's birthday party. Any to recommend?
Tks!!
I bought a box of finger paints for Dylan from Takashimaya today. After we paid for those paints, he's kept bugging me with the word "pain, pain, pain". I thought he was telling me that he's in pain and stopped to ask him what was wrong. Later did I realise what he wanted was to paint with those new paints.
I didn't think that he would be intereste in painting at all since he's always been very particular about his hands getting dirty. He was never keen on paints when in school. Today was an exeption. He painted happily with the brushes, and even gave a new meaning to finger.
Before going to bed last night, I had a short conversation with Dylan, here it goes...
Me: What is your name?
Dy: My name... my name is... "Dy yearn!"
Me: What are names of your friends in school?
Dy: Charmene, Natasa, Jessie!
Me: What is my name? (pointing to myself)
Dy: Ma ma is... "妈妈!"
Me: No, no, my name is Jolene... So, what is ma ma's name again?
Dy: Ma ma is... Tjonie!
wahahahaha...
Dylan has a very big issue with teeth brushing. He doesn't really like it and is also too lazy to brush his teeth (esp at night).
I would say that my personal dental hygiene has stepped up over the past few years ever since I found out how expensive root canal ops and crowns cost. In fact, I spent almost three thousand dollars just to get two of my molars fixed last year. I would not want to spend this crazy amount of money on Dylan's teeth since those are just baby teeth which will eventually fall off.
Since last weekend, I made it a point that Dylan MUST brush his teeth before he goes to bed. He's usually reluctant to get off his bed once he starts lazing in it, so I usually have to carry or drag him to the toilet. I also leave his toothbrush at the shower for him to brush his teeth when he takes his morning shower. Its been so far so good since I try to make teeth brushing a fun-filled affair for him.
While having breakfast with his father this morning, it sudddenly occurred to me that Dylan's chances of having dental woes might be lesser than other kids for two reasons: Firstly, he's got lesser molars than the rest of the kids his age. His playschool teacher did a count of the kids' molars a few weeks back, and I remembered Dylan has 2 molars lesser than the rest.
Secondly, there are huge gaps in between Dylan's teeth which we think might be attributed to his pacifier sucking habit. But that also means that the chances of food particles being stuck in between his teeth are lesser too!
I'm such a 阿Q-spirited mother at times.
Dylan and I went for our weekly train ride session last evening. He's obssessed with trains lately, and has been requesting to go on the "choo choo train" when he sees the MRT track. So last night we took a train down to Raffles City to meet his father for dinner.
So happened that Raffles City was staging a fashion parade in conjunction with the Singapore Fashion Festival. Dylan was first attracted to the loud music and flashy lights when we entered Raffles City, and insisted on checking out where those lights and music were coming from. And then he saw the models parading on the stage. I carried him away as the music was terribly loud for my comfort, to which, he violently objected and told me "I want to see, aunty nice!".
Eventually, we landed up on the 2nd floor of the mall watching the show. His father later commented "At least now we know that he likes to look at girls."
Dylan gets ferried home from school daily at 1pm by Uncle M, the owner of the childcare centre.
Yesterday, Uncle M related what the monster did in school that morning to Dy's grandma. Apparently, Dy had gotten hold of Uncle M's glasses (which I do not know how he did), and he put it on himself. After which, he paraded around school briefly and even asked the housekeeper to take a good look at him.
Gosh... this boy gets away with A LOT of nonsense in school.
We bought Dylan a bed recently. Its something we wanted to do for a long time but just didn't get down to doing. And since I am free these few weeks, I made a trip to Ikea myself, bought the bed and the accessories and assembled the bed myself. Took me almost 4 hours to put the bed together but it was worth all the effort.
Dylan took to the bed almost immediately. He climbs up to his little cove to sleep at night when we ask him to. I'm hoping that by mid-year, he is able to sleep alone by himself in his own room without our company.
See how he knows how to enjoy life. Kiao-kah while drinking his milk and watching TV!
The little helper is at work again. Previously, he was "helping" with fan-cleaning. This time, he helped with glass wiping. He squirted more water on me than on the glass though.
Many many months back, Dylan had his first taste of durian but he didn't really take to the fruit then. He took a bite and didn't ask for more after that.
Two weeks back, we bought some durians again. This time, the boy had a sudden change of mind and decided that he actually liked the taste. He could finish 2 fleshy seeds all by himself. Looks that the whole family is durian-loving.
Take photos randomly... and afterwards, post them onto the blog.
Since I'm quite free lately, I went on a snap happy mode. My cocker spaniel, Gigi, is an excellent choice to take photo with since she doesn't move much. She laps up all the attention that we shower on her, unlike her shih tzu friend, Urchin, who basically runs away to hide under the sofa when he's had enough of the manja.
